Hi! I posted about my intention to buy an ATI Radeon HD 5770 for about £130

I would like to know if anyone could suggest a better graphics card (like one that should be right in my face)?

I llok at Nvidia and see similar game performance (typical) in the cards that are £150
w/o DX11, GDDR5 memory etc

But this 'shader clock' stat pops up only on nvidia cards, do they have a separate form of graphical power????

I am interested in graphics cards between £100-£150ish, a good mid ranger

Numbers are just numbers, performance does not usually directly relate to any single, or any combination of numbers in the specs of a graphics card.

In pure performance, GTX260 beats 5770, but the features and other things really make that up easily... I have the linked card and I would certainly take a new 5770 over it any day if I just had some extra money.

Thanks for the rapid response, it seems that ATI are throwing the newest tech around at good prices. Is now the right time to buy?

As right as possible with computer tech. There's never a good time to buy anything, but Ati just recently (not too much so, prices have fallen near the 'real value' point) released the HD 5k series and nVidia blurted out their pathetic excuses for cards too, so there's not going to be anything more worth buying out soon.
