    hey guys,
all i would like is some advice on what type of graphics card to upgrade to. According to my computer's documentation, i have 3 PCI and 1 8X AGP slots and at the moment have a shithouse 64mb Intel onboard graphics. So all i would like to know is which is better..PCI or AGP or is there no difference? Cheers

AGP would be better. Can you post the rest of your system specs? And what do you use the computer for? Just internet? Games? If you game, what games do you play? It all depends on what you use it for as to what card is best. And how much money are you wiling to spend?

Don't think i've ever come across the Intel Shithouse integrated graphics solution?

AGP would be better in this instance.

Let us know which motherboard you have.

    sorry...i got Pentium 4 3ghz, 512 RAM, win xp sp2.
i use the system for anything mainly but i wanna upgrade the graphics card to play better games...at the moment im hooked on the fifa football games but i like others that demand more such as need for speed and the like...one game in the past i have played with much difficulty was one the matrix games.
i dont really want something that will be too expensive maybe a 200 to 250 limit (thats in aussie dollars) but if u cant help out with actually choosing one in that price range thats ok

u misunderstand me...the intel integrated graphics card is crap...shithouse is not the name of it

according to my documentation it says "INTEL PENTIUM IV 2.8GHz, 800FSB processor with 865 chipset mainboard"

    Nope..... I understand.
    I'm just ribbin' ya. :)

So your machine is relatively modern.
Easiest thing is just see what's the best you can get for your budget.
Anything on the market with AGP designation will fit and run.

Okay, I converted that, $200-250 for you is about $150-190 American. Don't know what prices are like at stores over there, but in the US you could get a Nvidia 6600gt for about $150USD (200AUD). It's a decent card, will play games like Doom 3. Someone else will have to pop in and give an ATI card req, I don't use them so don't know much about them.
