After visiting a web forum and maybe having something planted on my pc i have had a few problems ,, this is connected to Imperfeckds problem although i ran bitdefender and came up clear so i think i was more protected

Windows live messenger playing up
internet connection broadband lost and then found and various other little nigglyproblems that i didnt have before

Done a system restore and rebooted router seemed to fix it for now

however i have reason to believe that an attempt might have been been made to hack my pc and would like some advice

I was using windows firewall but i have Zone alarm now
Spywareblaster
AVG
Superantispyware

Hi blackmirror, I don't see anything bad in the HJT log.

What you can do is scan online, and with NOD32 as above, and make sure you submit the reports from anything, if any infected items are found.

Here is a list of good online scanners, some you will be familiar with but some probably not.

Check the possibility of open ports here, but since you do use some gaming things, you may have to have some ports open- and some are supposed to be, so don't immediately try to change anything.

https://www.grc.com/x/ne.dll?bh0bkyd2

Read up on port scanning.

There are ways to see what programs or features use ports, you will see that huge block of ports corresponding to known usage of ports when you scan. You will have to compare to what you use.

Zone Alarm may tell you what ports any given Intenet app is using, as well, so you can check the firewall's info and know what program, legit ones, are using the ports.

What bad symptoms are you seeing today if any?

I lost internet connection this morning and it took me a while to get back online... had to system restore back to about 4 weeks ago and it seems to have done the trick..
Msn has been behaving nicely ..
I think i was luckier than Diane is some respects but just wanted to be sure ...
Have tested all my ports in the link inTSG security all are stealthed.
Anyadvice is most welcome

Hi, That's good! Diane was at a disadvantage since she just got her new computer and would not have too far back to Restore to.

Plus, she actually did find some malware that got in.

If everything keeps scanning OK,,,, then only time will tell.
