 Every time my friend starts his computer, it connects to the internet by itself and goes to coolsearch.biz. We have run Ad-Aware and SpyBot to no avail. We have changed the home page but it changes itself right back. He has win xp home. We are fairly newbies so if anyone has a solution, please; step by step! If any more info is needed let me know.

I also noticed in the forum that svshost.exe is a trojan. What about svchost.exe? I noticed that a couple of times.

If you want to, have him post us a log.
Create a folder on your hard drive for Hijackthis.
Click on this link http://209.133.47.200/~merijn/files/HijackThis.exe and save the file into the folder you have created.
Unzip the file to the folder.
Scan your machine, then click on Save Log.

Post a copy back here and someone will be happy to review it.

Don't make any changes until instructed to do so.
