Download and install HijackThis using the "self extractor". Run it and select "do a system scan and save the log file". Then copy/paste the contents of the log to a reply

    http://www.thespykiller.co.uk/files/hijackthis_sfx.exe

    When did this problem begin?

Have you tried deleting all cookies?

Since this may be a "secure" sites issue, see:

    http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?kbid=870700&product=windowsxpsp2

Can you access your accounts by creating a different User Account on your computer, giving it administrative rights, and logging in under it?

Or perhaps better, by using an alternate browser such as Firefox or Opera?

    Hi ,

Just wanted to add that the MSKB link Rog gave you is a good one which tells you how to do the things suggested . Sometimes the knowledge board assumes people know more than the less experienced users do but they are better than they used to be and this page is fairly easy to follow.

Also trying Firefox is an easy free download and may indicate the problem you are having with IE if it does not occur when you use Firefox . Firefox is very similar in operation to IE and I have heard Opera is good and thought I might try it but I haven't yet although I have both IE6 and Firefox .

    Great ...

There are a few minor problems with the Scanlog, call it "house cleaning"

    >> by the way HijackThis should not be kept in a Temporary directory such as you have it. I'm not sure how you did this since the download I linked to uses a self extractor that should have placed it in Program Files.

I would put checks in these items and then select "fix checked":
