Hi,
first post here..

I have a Dell XPS 400 and trying to put an extra HD,
but when I connect the "new" hard drive to the computer I can hear the HD working, but the computer can't see it :/

Something to do with the Jumper Block?
this HD was the main HD in another PC, can that be the problem..?

if it is, anything I can do to make it work?

THANKS in advance.
Juanjo

First you need to make sure its detected in the BIOS setup of the Dell. Press F2 to enter the Setup and make sure the SATA connector the drive is connected too is enabled.

Next is to use Disk Management to Partition and Format the drive, here's how: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/309000

The jumpers aren't for regular use liekon the older Parallel ATA IDE drives, no jumper is correct for most configurations.
