I joined here today in desperation, I usually run AVG and spybot, but after reading dozens of posts I also ran superantispy and some other program, still getting pop up error messages all over the place and now getting some on your page too, the first ones starting while accessing my email at yahoo.com, got the following error message, did reboot after the spyware ran and removed 62 entries. Thank you so much, lynn

Hi, I'm not 100% sure but aren't you using Firefox browser Beta v. 4.0? There may be bugs yet- if things worked OK in FF 3.6 I would see about reverting back to that version- what do you have to say about that? Did you or someone install the Beta FF 4.0?

You can try this but it may not work for Firefox, might for IE::

Please try each of the things shown at this page >>> http://support.microsoft.com/kb/308260

You have to have a copy of all those instructions to refer to, so you need to Save that page as a single file, to My Documents folder or somewhere like Desktop where you can easily find and open it.
You can thet highlighted text info as a Notepad text document easily.
Or, print the text out to refer to.

Do the steps, try different browsers etc as it tells you, and let us know how things went.

Does the error message always involve ad.doubleclick.net?

    thank you phantom,
I did disable all the ad-ons as you suggested, closed out of IE and reopened, still getting the stupid messsage from ad click plus now every page I go to says, ad ons disabled this page wants you to use ad ons click here to enable, do I need to do a restart or what do we try next, this is very frustrating, or do I need to do a system restore to a week or so ago before this started?
    thanks in advance

    Have you tried resetting IE?

Do you have AVG and Windows Defender enabled together?

You mentioned using SpyBot so there is a possibility you used something in SpyBot that could cause this issue.....

Let's try having you post this so we can what is starting up, perhaps there is a blocking type program running
    Please download HijackThis:

Please go here to download HijackThis.
    • To the right of the green arrow under HijackThis downloads click on the Executable button and download the HijackThis.exe file to your desktop.
    • Double-click the HijackThis.exe file on your desktop to launch the program. If you get a security warning asking if you want to run this software because the publisher couldn't be verified click on Run to allow it.
    • Click on the Scan button. The scan will not take long and when it's finished the resulting log will open automatically in Notepad.
    • Save the log file to your desktop. Copy and paste the contents of the log in your post.
Please do not fix anything with HijackThis unless you are instructed to do so. Most of what appears in the log will be harmless and/or necessary..

    <<<<Please also do this:>>>>>>
Open Hijack This and click on the "Open the Misc Tools section" button. Click on the "Open Uninstall Manager" button. Click the "Save List" button. After you click the "Save List" button, you will be asked where to save the file. Pick a place to save it then the list should open in notepad. Copy and paste that list here.

Just wondering, thinking back, around xmas time I got a survey from pinecone research to complete and was unable to do so as I kept getting prompted to download adobe but then it would say it was on my system, still could not access the survey, I just now tried to log on to facebook to play one of my games and got a pop up saying i needed to install adobe, but when I tried to download said it is already on my system but still cannot access game, which I just played last night. Hope this gives you more info to help.

Phantom may have something for you to try because you indeed are using AVG along with Windows Defender and it may conflict....

Hmmm you are using SpyBot's Tea Timer, which can prevent you from having changes you need to make work correctly.

Here is how to disable Tea Timer: It's up to you if you turn it back on

    http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic114351.html

Go back to post# 10 in our thread here, I had some further directions regarding posting the Uninstall Manager log from HJT......

I hope we dont get you confused with the rapid posting........but, I think you will need to turn off TeaTimer before you try with the other things. Just start over if you need to.
