    This is the website:

    http://enetwork.ncbuy.com/downloads/ntchanga.html

The games are: hangaroo, blobs and allout. I love these little games. I can play one on line or dowload to play offline. I would like to play offline if possible.
    Thanks for answering so quickly

I think you should check for spyware. I have downloaded it and installed it. When I opened the program and even once before the installation was complete, the program wanted to connect to the internet. I chose not to register the FREE game. Also I found a few files it has installed, which are offers for credit cards and other stuff.

Do you know how to make a HJT log. I want to make sure that nothing is running in the backround that could be denying the program access to your computer.

    PS Hang-a-roo is funny :)

    >> Start by going to Add/Remove programs and remove "New.net" from there and then reboot. After that follow the rest of these instructions:

[IMG] Have these instructions printed or in a convenient Notepad (or Wordpad) file so you can view them in Safe Mode. Have "show hidden (or all) files" checked in Folder Options > View in case you have to search for any hidden files to delete. Also ensure you do NOT have "hide file extensions..." enabled in Folder Options > View

If HijackThis has not been downloaded or copied to a permanent folder, move it there before beginning.

Download and unzip to a convenient location the CoolWebShredder, CWShredder.exe available here: http://www.intermute.com/spysubtract/cwshredder_download.html

    Then:

1 >> Restart in Safe Mode. Instructions here if you need them:http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/tsgeninfo.nsf/docid/2001052409420406

2 >> In Safe Mode run the CoolWebShredder and have it "fix" detected problems. Then run HijackThis and check and "fix" the following entries:

    O2 - BHO: C:\WINDOWS\lbbho.dll - {42196BEB-6EB9-43BC-89E3-3D9CCBA95065} - C:\WINDOWS\lbbho.dll

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [SearchUpgrader] C:\Program Files\Common files\SearchUpgrader\SearchUpgrader.exe

^^ delete the "SearchUpgrader" folder from c:\Program Files\Common Files while still in Safe Mode.

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [4Dg] c:\documents and settings\ash\local settings\temp\4Dg.exe
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [TFio95RG] c:\documents and settings\ash\local settings\temp\TFio95RG.exe
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [4Dg.exe] C:\documents and settings\ash\local settings\temp\4Dg.exe
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [TFio95RG.exe] C:\documents and settings\ash\local settings\temp\TFio95RG.exe

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [KernelFaultCheck] %systemroot%\system32\dumprep 0 -k
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Windows ControlAd] C:\Program Files\Windows ControlAd\WinCtlAd.exe

^^ delete the "Windows ControlAd" folder from c:\Program Files while in Safe Mode

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [New.net Startup] rundll32 C:\PROGRA~1\NEWDOT~1\NEWDOT~2.DLL,NewDotNetStartup -s

    ^ this should be gone

Additional cleanup instructions: Go to the Control Panel > Internet Options applet. Clear the Temporary Internet Cache, History and Offline Content. Go to the Programs tab and select "reset web settings", including your home page if it has been altered. You can reset that later to what you desire.

Go to Start > Run, enter %temp% and then click Edit > Select All. Right click on the selected files and folders and delete them

    >> Reboot

Install, UPDATE, and run a full Ad-Aware SE scan and include the VX2 plugin. Have it remove all it targets. Reboot and post a new scanlog.

    Ad-Aware Home Page

    http://download.lavasoft.de.edgesuite.net/public/plvx2cleaner.exe
The VX2 plugin will be available in the "add-ons" window once installed and is run from there.

Note: I have left Ares and Ares lite in your startups. We do not support file sharing applications here, and I cannot assure you that either of these will be functional if they require supported Adware such as is installed here.

You've still got the "new.net" entries in the Scanlog (do NOT use HijackThis to remove those). Was it removed through Add/Remove programs?

If you are having trouble removing it, see this link:

    http://www.newdotnet.com/removal.html

And is the gaming issue still present? If so, I don't think it's related to any security or malware problem.

Great! And you are most welcome for the help! The scanlog looks fine, since you apparently have no further problems I will mark the thread "Solved". For future reference this is something available in the Thread Tools tab.

I would recommend that you update and apply the cumulative patch to Internet Explorer. You may also want to consider updating to XP SP2. Links for this are available in the "Microsoft" section of the Security Help Tools thread in this forum.
