Help with Windows XP Firewall error message. All of a sudden I get an error message when my computer boots up Win XP SP2). It tells me that the Windows firewall is not turned on. When I click the balloon, it tells me that the Windows Firewall/Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) service is not turned on and would I like to turn it on. I click yes and it tells me I cant start it. I tried reinstalling SP2, but that didn't help. Any suggestions?

It sounds like you have a bunch of nasties on your computer causing trouble.

I'd run a 'HiJackThis' scan and post the log in the security forum for them to look at first - maybe they can advise you on how to correct some of tese problems...

If not, then you might have to reinstall XP - and if you do get a good after market firewall like Sygate instead of using that windows crap.
