Hi! I'm confused about this one.

On my mom's pc there are 2 users in Win XP Home. She hibernates to save on startup/shutdown time and when ever she resumes windows from hibernation, windows brings her right back to her desktop.

On my pc there is only 1 user (Win XP Home too). Whenever I resume from hibernating my pc, I get the welcome screen (for me to enter my password) instead of being brought straight to my desktop like my mom's pc.

In both cases, the computers were hibernated straight from the desktop and NOT the welcome screen, but resumed differently.

Why is this so? Is there anyway I can change whether windows resumes back to the desktop or to the welcome scren?

Click Start > Control Pane> Performance and Maintenance
Select the Power Options control panel.
When the Power Options Properties multi-tabbed dialog box appears, click the Advance tab.
Uncheck Prompt for password when computer resumes from standby.
Click OK to close the dialog box.
