I cannot see windows/system or windows/system32 folders and getting all sort
of weird failures on my XP. I notice in the past threads that the problem was solved for someone but I cannot workout how.
I have checked through explorer and ensured that no files are hidden. So it is not a straightforward mistake.
I can see the contents of these folders with DOS commands. attrib -H
c:\windows\system32 command doesn't work as it refuses to recognise
c:\windows\system32 as a file.
I booted in 'safe mode' and can see that system exeutes a number a of
commands from system32 folder successfully. However, when I sign in through
my administrator account, I still cannot still see these folders. Looking at
the 'security' property of windows directory shows nothing strange.
Can someone please tell me a way round to getting my system32 and system
folder back/visible again.
