Highlighting is not working properly in any programs that I use. Sometimes it will highlight only a portion of the text I select. Sometimes it will not highlight any test. Sometimes it will select all the text and I have trouble deselecting it. Sometimes if I hold the mouse button down for a while it will work. Occasionally (seldom) it will work fine for a moment. I tried to search this issue but could not find anything that seems to help. I cleaned and checked the mouse. I ran the Microsoft Office Diagnostics which did not change anything. I haven't made any recent changes that would account for the problem. Any help would be appreciated.

I've been having a terrible issue with a strange lack of highlighting on my Logitech wireless mouse....so, I looked around, and found one tip to try > Switch the primary and secondary buttons in the Control Panel. I did this, to try and rule out a bad left or right mouse button and it turns out, when switched the usually-RIGHT-button-but-now-the-acting-LEFT works normally to highlight and copy and paste, which does not work much at all with the buttons in the normal mode. I plan to replace the mouse.

Byteman, thanks for the suggestion. I switched the buttons and so far it seems to be working normally. So I guess it is the mouse even though I cleaned it and thought I had ruled it out as the problem. Guess I'm in the market for a new mosuse. Thank you again for your response.
