Running on Windows 98 and tried cleaning system with spybot. When system cleaned it would not let me back in past blue screen. So went back and restored old registry (with help from rollin rog) and computer back up but still have those bad files which must have affected registry in some way. I have attached a hijackthis log for any help that can be given. Thanks in advance

You have no anti-virus protection for starters.
Get AVG (it's free): http://free.grisoft.com/doc/1
Install it and run a scan.
_________________________________________________________________
Download Ad-Aware SE: http://www.majorgeeks.com/download506.html

Install the program and launch it.
First, in the bottom right-hand corner of the main window click on Check for updates now then click Connect and download the latest reference files.
Then, in the main window: Click Start and under Select a scan Mode tick Perform full system scan.
Then, deselect Search for negligible risk entries.
To start the scan, click the Next button.
When the scan is finished mark everything for removal and get rid of it. (Right-click the window and choose select all from the drop down menu and then click Next).
_________________________________________________________________
Download and run the LOP Uninstaller here: http://www.thespykiller.co.uk/downloads.htm

Close all browser windows, run the remover, restart your computer.
_________________________________________________________________
Hijack This is running from the Temp folder.
It needs to be in a permanent folder on the hard drive.
This way it can create the necessary backups.

Click here to redownload it: http://thespykiller.co.uk/files/hijackthis_sfx.exe

Let it extract to C:\Program Files
Rerun it from there and post a new log.

Ad-aware found alot of stuff and when I clean or delete the findings and restart my computer it locks up on blue screen and no icons show up. I have attached the Ad-Aware log file, had to break up into 2 files to send.
Not sure what to do next. Thanks

Download KillBox here: http://www.downloads.subratam.org/KillBox.zip
Save it to your desktop.
DO NOT run it yet.

With IE closed, run Hijack This again.
Put a checkmark on these entries and hit "fix checked":

Boot into Safe Mode (start tapping the F8 key at Startup, before the Windows logo screen)

Double-click on Killbox.exe to run it.
Now put a tick by Standard File Kill.
In the "Full Path of File to Delete" box, copy and paste each of the following lines one at a time then click on the button that has the red circle with the X in the middle after you enter each file.
It will ask for confimation to delete the file.
Click Yes.
Continue with that same procedure until you have copied and pasted all of these in the "Paste Full Path of File to Delete" box.

C:\PROGRAM FILES\SIDEFIND\SFBHO.DLL
C:\PROGRAM FILES\ISTSVC\ISTSVC.EXE
C:\Program Files\SurfAccuracy\SAcc.exe
C:\Program Files\Internet Optimizer\optimize.exe
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\ZRYPPD.exe
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\WUTNSG.exe
c:\program files\180searchassistant\sais.exe
C:\WINDOWS\ujorejib.exe
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\3v6gvsr8.exe

Note: It is possible that Killbox will tell you that one or more files do not exist.
If that happens, just continue on with all the files. Be sure you don't miss any.

Exit the KillBox.

Open My Computer.
Select the View menu and click Folder Options.
Select the View Tab.
In the Hidden files section select Show all files.
Click OK.

Find and delete these folders:

C:\PROGRAM FILES\SIDEFIND
C:\PROGRAM FILES\ISTSVC
C:\Program Files\SurfAccuracy
C:\Program Files\Internet Optimizer
c:\program files\180searchassistant

Also in safe mode navigate to the C:\Windows\Temp folder.
Open the Temp folder and go to Edit > Select All then Edit > Delete to delete the entire contents of the Temp folder.

Go to Start > Run and type %temp% in the Run box.
The Temp folder will open. Click Edit > Select All then Edit > Delete to delete the entire contents of the Temp folder.

Finally go to Control Panel > Internet Options.
On the General tab under "Temporary Internet Files" Click "Delete Files".
Put a check by "Delete Offline Content" and click OK.
Click on the Programs tab then click the "Reset Web Settings" button.
Click Apply then OK.

Empty the Recycle Bin.

Reboot, post a new log.
