I ran my norton and house call as a back up plan and house call comes up with these 2 files Troj istbar.he and trojlodmedud.A they both say cannot access. I thought the problem was that I didn't have systen restore off so i disabled and ran the scan again and the same 2 files come up. I looked in my running processes but didn't see anything that pertained to those files.

I am new to Xp so maybe i am missing something!

    DL and run Istsvc http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/FxIstbar.exe

    From Symantec
    Note:
    · The date and time displayed will be adjusted to your time zone, if your computer is not set to the Pacific time zone.
    · The removal tool may terminate Internet Explorer and Windows Explorer. It is recommended that users save their work and log out of these programs before running the removal tool.
    · The removal tool will reset the Internet start page to a blank page. The start page can be modified by clicking on Tools > Internet Options in Internet Explorer.
    · The removal tool will not delete some harmless Temporary Internet files, which Adware.Istbar created, in C:\Documents and Setings\Administrator\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files.
These can be manually deleted using the following steps:
    a. Start Internet Explorer.
    b. Click Tools > Internet Options.
    c. In the Temporary Internet Files section, then click the Delete Files button.
    d. Check Delete all offline content, and then click OK.

Print this and boot to safe mode
    Fix these with HJT

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [jufozamk] C:\WINDOWS\system32\jufozamk.exe

    View Hidden Files
Open Windows Explorer. Go to Tools, Folder Options and click on the View tab.
Make sure that "Show hidden files and folders" is checked.
Also uncheck "Hide protected operating system files".
Now click "Apply to all folders", Click "Apply" then "OK"

    Delete these files

    C:\WINDOWS\system32\jufozamk.exe

    START – RUN – key in %temp% - Edit – Select all – File – Delete
    Empty the recycle bin
Boot and post a new log

The log is clean, although seeing a P2P porgram is a possibility for future problems, I'd turn the restore point back on.

What does it say about the files and where are they located

Yeah that p2p program is going to go tonight.... I just re-ran house call and the two files still show up there.
it says... Troj Istbar. He non cleanable C:recycler\S-1-5-21-31305
and Troj Lodmedud.A cannot access c: windows system32\cqzhv

I did empty recycle bin before rebooting!

Edit* I went back to housecall andwas able to delete the recycler file the other says it is in use???

Download pocket killbox from Download pocket killbox from http://www.thespykiller.co.uk/files/killbox.exe & put it on the desktop where you can find it easily

run killbox and paste this line into the box, select standard file delete and end explorer shell while killing then press the red X button, say yes to the prompt if it says unable to delete file then select delete on reboot and say yes to all the prompts

    C:\WINDOWS\system32\jufozamk.exe

when it reboots as I'm sure it will need a delete on reboot

Download and unzip or install these programs/applications if you haven't already got them. If you have them, then make sure they

are updated and configured as described

    AdAware SE from http://www.lavasoft.de/support/download
and while you are at the adaware site download and install http://www.lavasoft.de/software/addons/vx2cleaner.shtml
and run it before the main adaware scan and follow it's directions
    Run ADAWARE

Before you scan with AdAware, check for updates of the reference file by using the "webupdate".
the current ref file should read at least SE1R26 25.01.2005 or a higher number/later date

Set up the Configurations as follows:

    General Button
    Safety:
    Check (Green) all three.

    Click on "Proceed"

Please deselect "Search for negligible risk entries", as negligible risk entries (MRU's) are not considered to be a threat.

    Click on "Scan Now"

Run the scanner using the Full Scan (Perform full system scan) mode.

When scan is finished, mark everything for removal and get rid of it. (Right-click the window and choose"select all" from the drop

down menu) then press next and then say yes to the prompt, do you want to remove all these entries.

Download and install the Micro$oft antispyware BETA from

http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/spyware/software/default.mspx and let it fix anything it finds (when it finds things,

please quarantine them rather than delete just in case as it is a beta and occasional False positives happen)

First press file and check for updates and then run it

Recent tests suggest that a combination of Adaware & M$AS removes approx 80% of spywares/Adwares, much higher than any

    other combination

ok well that took alot out of me ;)
    Kill box found nothing,
rescanned with norton, came up clean
Ran my ad aware, did some program tweaking, got rid of all it found.
Download Ms new program and frankly it just doesn't like me, It kept bumping me to an eror screen and of course each time I had to reboot, finally got it to run all the way through.
Here is my lastest hj this log, Thanks a million guys!

Good morning! I re- ran the Trend scan and it still comes up with the Troj Lodemedud.a cannot selete as file is in use?? So this morning I have been googling my running processes and Soundman. exe comes up legit at times and other times not, so how do I know for sure if it's the real thing?

Did you do exactly as I said with killbox

I don't understand you saying killbox found nothing, it's not supposed to find anythung but kill and delete unremovable files

run killbox and paste this line into the box, select standard file delete and end explorer shell while killing then press the red X button, say yes to the prompt if it says unable to delete file then select delete on reboot and say yes to all the prompts

    C:\WINDOWS\system32\jufozamk.exe

When I run Killbox it pops up with " this file doesn't seem to exist"
this is the same message I received when i ran it last night!
I am pretty sure I killed the jufozamk.exe file
Trend reported the Troj Lodmedud.A being located in system32\cqzhvpm5.exe
I have searched my computer, all hidden files ect and can't locate it!
    Thanks for your help!

    OK lets try this

    download pv.zip from http://www.downloads.subratam.org/pv.zip

unzip it to desktop and open the PV folder, double click on runme.bat and select option 2 IE dlls and post the log it makes

then do it again and selct item 1 explorer dlls and post that log
