Solved: Hot mail won't let go!

Outlook express 6, Windows XP Media Center
Internet options says my default email is Hot mail.I want default email to be outlook express.I need help on how to reset.I clicked the set as default and closed program.Cannot access mail from internet explorer so back I go and there it is HOTMAIL hanging on set as default.

When you are on the Programs tab in Internet Options, are you selecting Outlook Express from the drop down beside E-mail: and then clicking Apply, OK, and OK?

Yes I am and when I set it and click ok or apply and reopen it is set back to hotmail.

Sorry I miss understood your question.The drop dowm menu says hotmail,I am unable to type in outlook express.that is in the program section.

You might need to registry Outlook Express if it isn't in the list. Check the path in windows explorer to Outlook Express, should be C:\Program Files\Outlook Express\Msimn.Exe
If it is, use this or change to the correct path.
Start> Run> type or copy and paste including the quotes:
"C:\Program Files\Outlook Express\Msimn.Exe" /reg then hit OK.
