How can stop Internet Explorer from showing possible web addresses whenever I start to type an address in the address bar? Thanks in advance.

In IE go to Tools > Internet Options > Content tab > AutoComplete, uncheck 'Web addresses'.

You can also click on 'Clear forms' which deletes the entries that show up in the address bar dropdown box.
