    make a shortcut to command.com [c:\windows\system32] and edit the properties.

    are we talking ms dos prompt or are we actuly taliking about an application?

    All this has to be done in Windows XP if that is what you mean. I don't believe there is a windows XP app called Command as far as I know. I could be mistaken.

    Bloodyskullz are you putting the shortcut on your desktop?
    No security policies in place?

    Virus and malware free?

    If you right click on the desktop, new shortcut, type command chose next then finish. this will create an ms dos shortcut.

    start > run > command
    start > run > cmd

    Two different things.

    So you want to run command.com in Windows 98 compatability mode with 256 colors?

    May I ask why or what is the for? Are you then launching some other program within the command box? I may have some better alternatives for you if you can give me some more information.

    To be honest with you, that was a question from my open book lab exam for Windows. I came here for help but no answer in time :(

    One more question: Difference between cmd and command is?
