Solved: HP Fotosmart 7350 Printer & HP G72-B49WM Laptop

    I lost the CD driver disc for this printer and need info. I am attempting to connect it to a new laptop which uses W7.

    I went to the HP downloads for this Fotosmart 7350 and HP says to use the driver for the Deskjet 5550.

    I tried using the Devices & Printers section to add a printer but the add feature will not permit me to load the Deskjet 5550 driver to the Fotosmart 7350 printer.

    Any ideas appreciated

    Here and here are the support sites for the HP G72-b49WM laptop and the HP Photosmart 7350 printer. You should add and save these sites in your browser favorites/bookmarks list so you can refer to them when needed.

    It appears that printer is several years old and has a driver package for Windows 2000 and XP, but not for Windows Vista and 7. If you're able to get it to auto-detect and be recognized by Windows 7, it's my guess it'll be limited to basic printing commands and nothing else.

    Yes it is a older printer and not compatable with W7 as suggested.
    I call that a victim of tech progression.

    No it did nothing when I plugged it in.

    Case closed, thanks again.

    Unless you're adamant about having one of those over-sized HP all-in-ones, a consumer HP all-in-one model will do fine for you. I have 3 of them(F340, F4180, C4280) and am very happy with them.

    I just bought at Walmart for $34 a HP Deskjet 1050 All-in-One Printer. Thats all I need

    Here is the support and software site for it that you can add and save to your browser favorites/bookmarks list.

    It looks like it has a full feature software and driver package for Windows XP, Vista, and 7. (y)
