Looking at laptop prices, HP always comes out on top as the best value of all. Even the lowly Acer and Asus.

    These specs for $429:
    2.2GHz Intel Core i3-2328M Dual-Core
    4GB of DDR3 RAM
    500GB 5400rpm Hard Drive
    Integrated Intel HD Graphics 3000
    15.6" HD BrightView LED-Backlit Display
    1366 x 768 Native Resolution
    SuperMulti DVD Burner
    802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth
    Integrated Webcam, Microphone & Speakers
    Windows 8 (64-bit)

    Anyone seen better?
