Solved: hpqwmiex

    Can I safely disable the hpqwmiex service from control panel > administrative tools > services
    list? what does it do anyway?

    That service is related to HP ProtectTools security manager.

    If you use hardware authentication to log on-smart card, fingerprint reader, or some other physical or biometric means-you may find big trouble doing that....


    I'd leave it alone...
