My mother has a dell dimension 8200 pc and it only has 256mb of ram.. I am trying to upgrade it to 512 or even 1gb depending on the price.BUT i can't seem to find what kind of memory this pc uses.I have looked on dell and it was 265 dollars! and it did not give any details on what type of ram is used..Like 184 pin for example? Any help would be much appreciated.. Thanks, Brian:confused:

    Hi,

Best source of RAM for all Dell's Is http://www.crucial.com

Guaranteed to work, with a lifetime warranty.

Use their system checker which will advise what RAM is compatible with the system.

I haven't looked at RAMBUS prices in awhile, but I believe it will be fairly expensive wherever you find it. If you look on eBay, be careful since most of the RAMBUS sold on eBay is "used pulls".
