I understand that I need to download a programme to use, but the only one I have found so far is the one on Macromedia site costing £500. This is too expensive for me, and my computer is getting old and only has 256MB ram, so it wouldn't work anyway. Are there any freeware programmes I can use? or any way of getting older versions of flash?

I just want to experiment a bit to see if Flash is really the programme I need. (I want to write interactive maths worksheets/games, I currently do complicated stuff in excel with macros, but lots of kids/teachers are getting macros stopped by security programmes, so I think it's time for me to move on to a new kind of worksheet/game).

    Any ideas/advice would be great.
    Thanks

Here is the program I used before I purchased flash cs3.
    http://www.koolmoves.com/index.html

It is 49 USD and it has a lot of the features flash does. It's a good way to learn the basics of flash but if you want to go more in depth into scripting and advanced animations you need the adobe product.

    Ace, thank you both!
I've just installed the koolmoves trial, which works on my system and will get me started.
