I recently had a problem with IE 6, SP 1 so I uninstalled IE 6, SP 1 then I reinstalled. My problem is that Outlook Express never upgraded to ver 6, SP 1. I have tried removing & reinstalling IE 6, however, I am unable to get Outlook express to upgrade to, 6, SP 1. At this point I have Windows 2000 with IE 6, SP1, and Outllok Express 6.
Does anyone have any ideas what I need to do to resolve this problem?
    Thanks Very Much

Thanks very much, however, this fix from microsoft applies only to windows xp. WIndows 2000 is a little different. Never the less, I am still unable to upgrade to outlook express sp 1 after uninstalling and installing ie 6, sp1 several times.
Does anyone know of a work around for this problem?

What version of OE 6 do you have? Mine is the latest, updated with the latest updates, and it is v. 6.00.2800.1123.

You could always download and use Mozilla Thunderbird v. 1.

That seems to be the version but I think if SP1 is loaded, it is noted below those numbers. When the Microsoft update attempts to download a security patch for OE 6, it states that I need SP 1

There is no SP1 noted on my OE. I think what update means is that you need SP1 of IE.
