    I have checked IP configuration. it has been OK.
    the only problem when I use cmd command and give command ipconfig/all, I dont see the IP address, which means I sometimes get IP and sometimes no.

    how is the laptopp connected to the internet - can you supply make and model of all devices - routers/modems etc - and if using wireless or LAN or USB

    post an ipconfig here - see below

    do you have a firewall on the PC at all

    TWO Methods to do that - some people have problems with ONE----

    ONE ---------------------------------
    start
    run
    cmd
    ipconfig /all

    rightclick in the box
    select all
    enter
    control key + C key - to copy
    then reply here and
    control key + V to paste

    TWO -----------------------------------------------

    Start, Run, CMD to open a DOS window and type:

    IPCONFIG /ALL >C:\RESULT.TXT

    Open C:\RESULT.TXT with Notepad and copy/paste the entire results here.

    why change the numbers on that IP - are these all made up
    do you have router .. {the ip 192.168.x.x are default router IP addresses for routers - although I notice you dont have DHCP enabled...}
    or lan to modem???

    interesting info...

    looks like you have IPv6 installed - which unless you know you need i would remove
    create a restore point
    start
    programs
    accessories
    system tools
    system restore
    create a restore point - then you can at least go back

    now go to add/remove programs and get rid of IPv6 tunnelling

    next do you have a firewall running on the laptop at all - that may be blocking

    try a ping test

    try ping the name and then the IP see below

    start
    run
    cmd

    C:\Documents and Settings\wayne>ping {the default gateway ipaddress you got above }

    C:\Documents and Settings\wayne>ping google.com
    C:\Documents and Settings\wayne>ping 64.233.187.99
    I dont know enough about HJT logs - so we need a guru to look at that {i have asked for a move to secruity forum for a decode }

    Thanks so much for your help. what I really mean by "change" = I change 3 digits of IP second row because I dont wanna show it up here.
    Well, finally the problem is solved. I totally reformat my system. So now I have fresh system and new Office 2003.

    OK can you mark as solved - so the HJT guru's dont spend time decoding

    Would you now mark this thread solved - which you have the power to do from your first post.
    goto
    Thread tools>
    Tick - Mark Solved

    Thanks (y)
