I've looked at earlier threads relating to this problem but they don't seem to help. I'm running W7 (home premium 64 bit) and Explorer 9. I'm printing on a Canon LBP 5360 which works fine in Word and other applications. It will also print fine from Firefox. However, I can't print from a web page using IE9. When I try it comes up with the printer dialogue box and I make a selection but nothing happens. I know I could switch to Firefox but I prefer IE9. Help greatly appreciated

I have several goes trying to update the printer driver. I've downloaded a large compressed file from Canon and when unzipped and run it couldn't find the printer! Seems a very complicated way to install a new driver. I didn't uninstall the current one and am somewhat reluctant to do so given I can't seem to install a new one! Everything seems to work with Firefox so isn't it a IE9 problem?

Try disabling Protected Mode in IE9.

Tools > Internet Options > Security

Thanks Triple6. I followed the link as was presented with a choice of 11 drivers and (apart from one I could ignore with Vista in the title) I can't see which one I should chose! Can you advise please?

Thanks also Phantom010. Turning off protected mode didn't make any difference.

You want the driver titled: PCL5e-c_6_v8.90_v6.90_Setup_x64.exe

Did you try both Fix it (click them) solutions on that page?

Thank you all for your help. I finally managed to install a new printer driver which was the most complicated driver update I've ever encountered. Why does it have to be so difficult, you used to be able to just say 'look for a new driver' and it all worked! I appreciate all the help.
