Have you tried to reinstall the Sony Intel drivers again now that SP2 is off? Are you sure the Intel drivers do not show in Programs and Features to uninstall and do a clean install?
This was Sony's response to me as well. I am really trying to avoid that, considering it's not a severe error (no functionality lost, other than a slightly slower start up) and considering I have literally dozens of apps that would probably take days to re-install from scratch.
