    Hello All

Windows XP SP3 installed on hard drive C, need to format and reinstall on hard drive D. Windows does not like this idea. How do I carry out this function?

You can install Windows on whatever partition you want to. What error are you getting?

Are you talking about different hard drives? Or trying to coax Windows into assigning the "drive" letter of your choice?

Two different hard drives, sorry for omitting that info.

Why not just clone one disk to the other?

    Hello prunejuice

I am a simple man who knows nothing about 'cloning'. Why am I not able to just install Windows on a second hard drive. Both drives are in the same computer.

    Hello TerryNet

I was not getting any error messages or codes, just a couple of options like repair, and partition. Took the PC to my suppliers this morning, I now have it back home. They told me the BIOS was not recognizing the second drive. No idea what they done, but it's working just fine now. Thank you for your replies.

    Regards SilverSurf
