    Help!

    :)

I'm working on a Toshiba Satellite A105-S2031. I just reformatted, and WHILE installing windows updates, i was installing video drivers and modem drivers. I got a blue screen, but it seemed like the video drivers installed ok. I went to install the sound drivers and device manager was all clean (no ! or ?), but when I adjusted the volume using the sound icon in the taskbar, no sound!

I thought it was the speakers, so i plugged in my headphones to no avail. Please help, trying to fix this quick! Thanks guys!

I removed all the Realtek drivers I tried, then tried the Windows Update realtek driver, and it rebooted with a blue screen pointing to RTKHDAUD.SYS. Tried following some instructions and installing the manufacturers version R2.14, but no luck =/ Trying to install 7 now

Installed Windows 7, all the drivers were already found, but sound still doesn't work T_T

in some cases, Realtek HD Audio Driver would have two output interfaces.
for e.g. Realtek Primary HD audio output and Realtek Secondary HD audio output
the secondary interface in such cases is generally used for sound output through the sockets on front of the chesis, and the primary one for output through the rear sockets.
Open the realtek control center, the interface options are in the mixer tab. See if changing the interface(if there are more than 1 at all..) works.

I'll look for the Realtek center now. Also, I installed it on Windows 7, and didn't have to install any drivers, but the audio still will not work =/

So I was talking to the customer.. then she calls back and tells me "There's a volume level on the very front of the laptop". Guess what.. it was all the way down. I feel like an idiot!

Don't feel so bad. Most of us make some sort of dumb "boo hoo".

The very first time that I installed a video card to upgrade the integrated graphics, I connected the monitor to the integrated graphics port instead of the video card port. I went crazy trying to figure out what the problem was until I realized what I had done.
