I am adding a WD Caviar Blue 500 GB SATA III (WD5000AAKX0) hard drive to my pc. I think i have physically installed it correctly. It does show up in Device Manager with no errors and Windows XP recognized it on first boot. However it is not visible in My Computer....

Thanks for any help you can offer.

Is this a brand new hard drive?

Most harddrive need to be formated before it can be used.
Click START - Right click MyComputer - Select Manage

    Computer Management screen
    Expand Storage - Disk management
Check if any of the drives listed here match your 2nd harddrive.

Right click it choose "Format" or "Assign Drive Letter and Paths" if its already formatted.
