You may have set Google as your homepage but you haven't set your default search engine to Google.

Add Google as Default Search Engine in IE9

If you can't find Google in the “Find more search providers” link, try the following:

You can create your own search provider (Google) with the following simple procedure, using the IE Search Provider Builder Tool (no software to download):

No, I have personally tested it on IE8 and it worked perfectly, and other members have tried it with IE9 successfully. It's IE7 +. Meaning IE7-8-9.

I think u should unistall all your search providers in IE. Then download Google only again.

If, after following P 010 & deathworm's advice, you have problems, run IE9 without add ons.
start > programs > all programs > accessories > system tools > IE 9 no add ons.

Then, try to change your default search provider.

I don't know if it would help to boot to safe mode with networking, but I don't think it would hurt.

When did the computer last work well? When did the problem begin? Sometimes the exact date is important.

What changed; a hardware or software installation or removal; an update to W7 [ check your W7 update history ] or update to your anti malware or other antimalware program / programs ]; an update to Java or an Adobe program for example?

Please provide a screen shot of the W7 update history if any IE9 updates are referenced.

Had you been running IE10 beta?
