My wireless signal isn't great so I bought two Powerline Network Adaptors. One is plugged in downstairs into its own electric socket and to the back of the wireless router. The other I use wherever i need to .

It works fine on my laptop, plug in the cable and I immediately have Internet access, from any room and any electric socket. But when I plug it into my new PC, Sony vgc-rt1su, I get a message saying the local area connection has a invalid IP address. I can get a wireless connection OK from the Sony upstairs to the wireless router downstarirs, but the signal is poor, which is why I went to the powerline approach.

I have tried diagnose problems and resetting it, I seem to around in circles but always end up at the same place, 'invalid ip address'. All ideas and suggestions most welcome. Here is the results of my ipconfig /all
