I have the latest version of JAVA installed. However, two of my browsers are looking for an earlier version when I click the download link they provide. Is there any harm done to have two versions installed?

When you install a new version of Sun Java Runtime Environment, it doesn't uninstall or overwrite the older version. Many people aren't aware of this, so they wind up with multiple versions in their computer after awhile.

I'm not aware of anyone having a computer problem from having multiple versions installed.

Thanks for the reply and info. I'll download the version that seems to be needed.

    Hi redoak

Just be aware that older versions of Java are open to malicious exploits - especially Vundo - so it's highly recommended you stick with the current version - Java Runtime Environment Version 6 Update 7 - & not have any older versions on your system.
