I have never really understood what Java does, but that's not the question. My 9 year old computer shows Java DB 10.5.3.0 as the original install. Over the years I have downloaded and installed updates as they were suggested. Recently after the security scare with Java, Oracle suggested the current update 10.6 Update 9 which I have recently installed. It is my understanding that Java updates override whatever proceded it, and you don't need to remove previous updates 1st before downloading the new update. I don't believe I ever have in the past!

Am I up to date and secure and running the currect Java for my system?
