    Hi there,

I have Norton Antivirus installed on my computer. I think i had some kind of free trial for their backup service Norton Online backup.

Now when it ran out, every time i start up my pc there pop up a little box in the bottom right corner. I have to cloes every time.

How can i stop this message to pop up every time? it's pretty anoying.. :(

If you need additional details just ask.

    Sincerly,

    Smartmoss

But it will remove the whole Norton right? It's only the notification that tells me that my free trial of Norton Online backup has ran out i want to get rid off..

You have to uninstall the software when the free trial expires or purchase it. Those are the only two options. But yes, running the removal tool will remove your Norton anti-virus as well so you need to just uninstall the online backup program.

Why would you not want to uninstall something that you can't use and is only added clutter on the computer?

I still have around 200 days of Norton AV. But the free trial of Norton Online Backup has ran out. And i dont wanna get rid of Norton Antivirus 2012 because i still have 200 days.

It might be a bit hard to describe but hope you understand what i mean.

There should be two separate entries in Add or Remove Programs in the Control Panel that are independent of each other. If you've been using the online backup then uninstalling it will probably remove any backups created and after the trial expires it likely won't work and backups may be purged.

Can you post a screenshot of the box you're getting?

You should be able to if there's an option to uninstall it. Remember, as I said before, if you've been using it this will probably purge any backups that were made so they will be lost.

Okay, i will try removing it from add / remove programs. I know the backup data will be lost, but i did not use it. So there is nothing to lose.
