Today I got an message from Kaspersky saying something like, "XAMPP is trying to modify without a digital signature. More than 10000 users use XAMPP. 99% trust this application" and it gave me 3 options to select. I selected "Restrict" which will restrict the dangerous operations but will run the program. Then I uninstalled XAMPP and reisnatalled it, but KS didn't allow it to install some .bat files. So I disabled KiS and installed XAMPP. I am having the latest version of KS, and I want to know why KiS displayed this message. If it is not a threat, I need to "Undo" the "Restrict" thing. Please help me.

May be of help if you dont want to cruise the kaspersky forums

I am using version 10..so the navigation may be a little different..if you are using 11
I think you are wanting the application control setting...The area highlighted takes you to it by clicking
Kaspersky should make it easier as to what is click able and what isnt...once reaching that window after clicking there is a drop down menu for blocked, restricted etc

I had used 11 for a while and went back to 10..as I liked the sandboxing in 10 better than the approach in 11..I remember navigation being different...but never explored it in detail...I am guessing, the setting should still be tied to application control
