Solved: keyboard problems

After formatting my drive recently (XP Laptop) some of the keys do not produce the character indicated.

For example:
shift 2 should be " but is now @
@ is now '
i have lost the symbols for the pound and euro currency completely
and a few otheres are changed also

please can someone help with this?

dbar,

Click on Start > Settings > Control Panel > Regional & Language then from the menu select English(UK) .....it is probably English US at the moment .....

The currency etc. should then be shown in £

also further down under Location select U K.

Does this help?

Also:

From Regional & Language click on the Languages tab > click on Details > the default input language should show English UK
