Afternoon All,
My brother in law dropped his laptop, which has resulted in a cracked screen and damaged plastics. Having replaced a screen before I ordered a new one, and have fit it, but alas no joy.
Before I go and pull the laptop to pieces I thought it would be a good idea to ask for some advice. Here are a few key points;
1. The replacement screen is brand new, and has had all its wires connected. There is no display on the screen. There was no display on the old damaged on either, I though the fall had damaged it completely.
2. The rest of the laptop works fine, I have hooked it up to a screen via the VGA output, and everything works fine.
3. When I right click and select properties>settings , it only displays the external monitor, no mention of the LCD.
So what do you suggest? I was thinking about pulling it apart and seeing if the LCD cable was still attached at the "other end", any thoughts?
Thanks,
James
