Goodmorning..Recently, my laptop won't connect to my tv..Using an HDMI cable from my Samsung laptop (running win 7 home premium) to a Sony HDTV.) When connected, the laptop screen goes "black", but my laptop screen shows up on the tv..
trying to troubleshoot this issue with no luck. Previously, before the laptop screen went black when connected, the sound was not channeling through the tv..only the laptop.
Any advice on fixing this is much appreciated~
    Thanks! :)

    Hi

A good place to start is to look at your function keys. Take a look at FN+ and see if there are some relevant buttons

Obviously, take a look at Control Panel - Display Settings to see if it is set to share 1 way only

Let us know how you get on :)

Thank you..went into my display settings- and now I have sound, but my tv isn't displaying the video when I click into it.
The video is only showing on my laptop. TV is showing my desktop though...pretty sure I'm not displaying the right connection point preferences between laptop & TV.
