I'm using an xbox360 kit to run my 360 through my monitor. I'm running the audio through the line-in of my computer, then through my comp speakers. For some reason, when I restarted my computer, my 360 audio volume was really high to the point it was cracking and distorting on my speakers. I've turned line-in level through volume control and that helps but doesn't completely fix it. I know it can be fixed because I've had someone get it to work before. Is there a way to further adjust line in volume? Or is there any way I can use a program to auto-adjust it down?

Using a Dell XPS 410 with windows 7 if that is any help

    Thanks

Also: Just turning down the volume slider doesn't fix the problem, it only lowers the volume of the already distorted sound.

Figured it out. For anyone else who has this problem:

Try taking the audio chord out of the line-in and restart the computer. I think it has something to do with it being plugged in during startup.

If anyone else figures anything about this out, let me know. The more information the better.
