Linking...

I have data in work
book 1 lets say i have the number 42 in cell b8
book 2 lets say i have the number 68 in cell a10

How do I in book 3 add the two datas? like

=Book1!+Book2!

then in that cell it would equil 110.

as long as the cells don't change, excel doesn't care WHAT the data is. It only cares what the sum of two is.

what if the data in that cell is also a formula to add up two other cells, it will still work

yup. As long as that formula is returing a valid number, and not an error, should work fine.
