I have these little green things with a white check-mark inside at the bottom left corner of my icons (Word, Excel, Notepad, and "some" Pictures/Images)
I Google-searched this and found some answers as to "how to remove them" in your anti-virus software settings (they have something to do with "backup files").
However, I'm wondering "if I remove them", is this not such a good idea? Do they need to be there to be "backed up"? I mean, they're not really such a bother to me, except when I'm trying to see/read the actual icon (how it was saved) cus it kinda gets in the way (it overlaps the icon), but if it's necessary to have them there for backup purposes, then I'll deal with it, I guess... lol.
    Thx folks!

Do you have Mozy on your computer? It's a backup software. The green icon lets you know that your files are successfully being backed up.

Do you have another backup software installed?

    Do you have Norton antivirus?

The green icons probably mean the files have been successfully backed up by Norton.

Thank you, that actually does make sense... I was wondering how and if it was "ok" to remove the green things from appearing on the icons only because when I'm opening a file from a particular program, the icons are much smaller than if I were to just open my Docs folder (icons are much bigger there)... and because they are so small when opening them via a particular program (such as Word, etc), I am unable to see certain parts of the rest of the icon. (Hope that made sense, lol).
