I have an APO-AP address and would like to buy a new Dell laptop computer but because of the USPS restrictions on sending Lithium batteries through the mail, I am only able to buy what's in the PX, and I don't like any of the laptops for sale there. Does anyone have any ideas on how to buy computers from the States and get them overseas? (I don't see why Dell doesn't have a program whereby computers are sold and shipped overseas without the batteries and then the purchasers take their computers and their receipts to a central store and have the batteries installed.)

CWWOZNIAK, thanks for this great advise. I will check with Dell to see if they ship FedEx and check with FedEx to see if this can be set-up. Thanks again.

According to that link that CWWOZNIAK supplied, it shows that of November 15, that the USPS is now shipping those.

"USPS will begin accepting lithium batteries installed into electronics on November 15, 2012"

captainron276 and CWWOZNIAK, you are right. Today one of the gentleman at work told me that the USPS has changed it's policy regarding devices containing Lithium batteries, and now the devices can be shipped overseas via the USPS. I call the local APO-AP post office and was advised that the Lithium batteries can not be shipped separately, but can be shipped overseas via the USPS as long as the batteries are within the device and the box and the custom's' forms clearly state that the device contains the batteries. That is great news for people living overseas who want to receive items containing Lithium batteries from the States. Thanks, guys, for the responses and the info.
