I have recently added two new profiles and groups. When I try to log them on to computer I get a message stating: "The user identified can not log on interactivley". I have checked everything that I can think of please help.

The users do not have permissions to log onto the workstation locally. To change user permissions, you must first be logged on to the workstation as an administrator.

Go to Start > Programs > Administrative tools

Then compare the groups a good user is in to a user with the problem.

If your running 2000/xp try this.

start>settings>control panel>administrative tools>local security policy>local security settings>user rights assignments>log on locally then add the users or groups to that.

i had the same problem and this worked for me!

let us know how it went.

    Aubry, Good reply.

I recommend the users be added to an exist group or create a group and then grant the group Log On Local privileges, it is always better to work with groups than individual user IDs. It's just a good administration practice.

Check the permissions on the documents and setting folder. This sounds like a permission error.

That was it thank you very much. Some things still bother me though. The second user that I added was not apart of the group that was aloud to access the doc file and they still could log in. Well anyway thank you again. My kids will love it.
