    Hello,
after finding out my copy of xp pro was not genuine, with help from some of the members here. I purchased a oem copy of xp home.
my drive had a logical drive D: i used for saving pictures and important stuff.
when i installed xp home i formatted C: and installed, no problem.
But i cant find logical drive D:, so i guess its gone.
Is it possible to retrive these files?
Maby some company that does this ?
    any suggestions would be greatfull.
    Thank you, jpass

Go to Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Computer Management -> Disk Management and see what it says about the drive there. Report back.

Well the partition is gone then and the chances for recovery are very slim.

Now that I got your hopes down, check out this program: http://www.pcinspector.de/file_recovery/UK/welcome.htm

I have used it to recover deleted files and files off damaged partitions. Don't expect full recovery of missing files but if you have some time and nothing to lose then try it. The folder names may be random numbers as well.
