Has anyone lost sounds on software after Microsoft's latest updates - I have lost all sound in Hoyle's Card Games 2007. Other versions of HCG still play sounds but I prefer 2007 version. I want Google as my search engine but am unable to find Google in the IE9 Manage Add-ons window. Does anyone know how I can get rid of Bing and replace it with Google.

As I said in my post Google is not available to me in IE9 Manage Add-ons page. I click on Find more Search Providers and I get 4 results - 2 Bings, I eBay and 1 Graysonline Visuals. Nothing further. I go to Google home page but that does not give me a choice. What have I done now to get this happening? Any help, please

    Which updates?

Please post a screen shot of W7s updates.
control panel > upper right, view by "large icons"
    Windows update
Upper left, left click link to view update history

I have not lost sound in IE9 following the updates.
    I run W7 Pro, SP1, 32 bit.

I search from the address bar, using Google

Thanks, I've already followed the above and cannot get google. The card game was playing perfectly for 18 months when it went mute partway through a game.

Those are the steps I've been trying for about a week. I wonder if I changed a setting the last time I re-installed Win 7 Pro x64 so that Google is not allowed to be shown or installed. I tweak a lot and about every 3 - 4 weeks have to re-install or use a backup image. Thanks

I haven't lost sound in IE9 but in Hoyle Gard Games 2007 - part way through a game I lost the sounds. Sound system works okay everywhere but the card game.
All updates for 13th and 6th of february were successfully installed. Thanks

This started with IE8. Looks like IE9 is no exception. Microsoft has been pushing for Bing for quite a while now...

You can create your own search provider (Google) with the following simple procedure, using the IE Search Provider Builder Tool (no software to download). That's how I chose Google for my IE8:

rainforest123, where does that name come from? (Queensland or South America) Just stirring. Unable to find any help on the forum.hoylegaming.com but thanks for trying. I keep using cards 2007 for the large Cribbage Board that comes with it. I can't read the scores in the later games. GUDONYER

    What is "GUDONYER"?

    You are welcome.

Does this mean that your computer has graphics / video problems, too?
If so, there are troubleshooting steps discussed at hoyle gaming. Because the site requires registration for "advanced searching", I had to create an account. Thus, I do not feel comfortable providing the information on their website. Rules vary from forum to forum as to where one needs to be a member to read their members' advice. Thanks for understanding. (y)
