I recently had the blaster worm virus and managed to eradicate it using the Microsoft Fix.

I installed AVG and ran a complete test and it didn't find anything.

I now keep getting a pop up message from AVG Resident shield saying that it has located "Worm/LovSan.A" virus in:

    C:\System Volume Information\_restore(0E0FD
    926-FCD3-4235-0E5CF1734F92)-\RP19\A
    0003150.exe.

It says to run AVG to kill it but having run complete tests it cannot locate the virus? I've also tried two online scans, one of which being 'Trend Micro' -but again it did not find anything.

I'm guessing the virus info. got stored in a system restore file (??) and it doesn't seem to be causing any problems but obviously I'm not keen having it sat somewhere on my system!

I tried locating the file named above but it says access denied when I try to open via the Run cmd?

Any help would be muchos appreciated!!

    Cheers TSG.

    Owen.

You should turn off system restore prior to running the virus removal. Once it's gone, then turn system restore back on.
