I just reinstaled my XP operating system and it came pre installed with microsoft office. When i open it, it wants a product key. the product key is still on the back of the laptop, but it won't accept that product key. What shuold I do now?

The key on the back of the computer is for the operating system, not for MS Office.

You will need the original packaging that came with Office, that came with the PC when it shipped, it will have the product key imprinted on it.

    Use Open Office "Writer"
    http://www.openoffice.org/

Or buy another copy of MS Office.

Most PC's don't come with software anymore. What you have is what you got. The Office that was on the image is a trial, and you have to purchase it to obtain the full version. Openoffice is an excellent Office suit. I suggest you download it, thanks to Mumbodog.
