    Looking for help with following problem:

    When I start laptop (running Windows Vista™ Home Premium, Service Pack 2, 32 bit) I get the following error messages:

    Microsoft Visual c++ Runtime Library

    Program:....s/Roxio Shared/9.0\SharedCOM\RoxWatchTray9.exe

    A buffer overrun has been detected which has corrupted the program's internal state.
    The program cannot safely continue execution and must now be terminated.

    Microsoft Visual c++ Runtime Library

    Program:....ommon Files\RoxioShared\9.0\SharedCOM\RoxWatchTray9.exe

    -pure virtual function call.

    I ran a virus check with AntiVir Free and it found and removed the following:

    Searching for info on this I followed advice on updating Java and Adobe and removing older versions but am still getting the two error messages above on starting up. Computer seems to be working OK other than I tried system restore with two different restore points and both failed.

    Any advice on what the error messages may mean and how to resolve then would be much appreciated.

    Both errors refer to a startup item which loads everytime Windows starts. The startup item (RoxWatchTray9.exe) belongs to the Roxio Easy Media Creator 9 Suite. re-installing this software should fix it, or simply remove RoxWatchTray9.exe
    from your list of startup items. It is not essential to have it starting with Windows, removing it will free up precious resources, and it will in no way impact on your ability to use the Roxio software.

    pip 22 thanks. RoxWatcthTray9.exe wasn't in my list of startup items (nor anything to do with Roxio as far as I could see) so I just decided to uninstall the Roxio software as I never use it and it was probably out of date. Have just rebooted after doing so and the error messages have not appeared this time, so job's a good one it seems. Many thanks for your information and advice. Ben
