I recently bought an SSD and did a clean install.

When trying to play some of my music files, it now says "download migration license."

    I opened IE9 and tried, but it won't download.

I had it on my HDD before, so I did it once.

    Any advice?

    Thanks,

P.S. In properties, "download rights automatically" is checked.

What program? What version of Windows? Did you install all the updates? Where did the music come from?

This was music that I own and have always been able to use on my HDD.
Previously, I would get the message - "Download Migration license" from Microsoft.

    This was always successful.
Now, when I try to, the download is successful, but it will not open.

Windows 7 now, previously - XP home.

I think the version of Media player - now 12 - might be the problem, and I might go back a few versions if that will solve it.

    Thanks,

    Paul

Installed all updates - none available,

This is the download for license.

That's not an answer. Where did the music come from originally? Did you download it? From where? There's no licensing issue with music you own on CD and rip to MP3, so there's definitely a missing piece of the puzzle here.

These were albums that I got from the local library.
They all played previously. so I know it's not a protected issue.

The Microsoft download for Migration License, which worked on MP 10, does not run.

The problem seems to be in this version of MP12.

I'll just revert to an earlier version.

ALL my other music plays fine.

    Thanks for your reply.

That's not legal. You never owned the music or the rights to rip a digital copy.

I bought these from a library sale.

    Perfectly legal.

When I try to download license, it says "already downloaded 10 times."

Have no idea why, since I have only used it about 2 or 3 times.

    Re-rip them with iTunes.
