Solved: missing or corrupt usbstor.inf file when installing HP printer

    I have the same problem that was solved in an earlier thread, now closed. Here's the link: http://forums.techguy.org/hardware/568675-solved-error-message-usbstor-inf.html

    It is related to installing an HP printer and the error message saying that I do not have the necessary windows file usbstor.inf. The file is on my PC but there must be something wrong with it that is preventing me from installing my new printer.

    I've already downloaded the latest software and drivers from HP for the printer and I'm still getting the same error. If you could possibly attach the file to this thread that would be great!!!

    I clicked on your link and even downloaded and paid for the registry booster program that was recommended. Now I'm out $29.99 and my problem isn't fixed. I tried going back to the closed thread to find the file I need but all I see is a bunch of characters...

    no idea what you mean about a registry booster???
    anyhow click your link you gave go to last post and moderaor has given instructions , you need to copy that in notepad, all info is on your link ??

    Thanks! I'm sorry. I didn't follow the directions of copying and pasting the text into Notepad. I was looking for an actual file to download. After following the instructions and replacing the file I was able to fully install my HP printer! THANKS!!! :D
